Parrot Mambo is a very unique type of mini drone and comes in a few different bundles. The Parrot Mambo’s body is reminiscent of a LEGO toy in the sense it can be customised with an array of accessories. It can be loaded with a canon that can hold and fire 6 pellets, a remote controlled grabber that can carry up to 4 grams and even a 720p HD camera.
Not only is the awesome fun its also super simple to fly, it features altitude hold, allowing you to put down the controller and let it hover as well as an automatic shut down that will let you cut the motors if needed. You have the option of controlling the Parrot Mambo drone using the FreeFlight Mini app for iOS and Android. For a more tactile experience you can use the Parrot Flypad which gives you a more familiar style of control and a phone can be clipped in to it as well as an increased flight range.
If you get the optional camera add-on then it opens up the possibility of FPV (First Person View) flying so you can get a cockpit view and feel right in the action. To take it a step further you can even get the FPV package that includes Parrot’s Cockpitglasses 2 which is an immersive headset that put you right in to the action. This makes it an awesome drone for racing and even comes with some great built in flight features like drift mode.
For budding young coders and builders there is Tynker software for coding flight movements and automated flight manoeuvres. This is a great way for younger ones to learn basic concepts in coding and robotics in a fun way by controlling a drone.
