The DJI Mavic 2 Zoom has seen a makeover to become the front line in DJI’s M2E (Mavic 2 Enterprise) line up. Photos of the drone were leaked before the Mavic 2 announcement showing mysterious add-ons and attachments.
The Mavic 2 Zoom’s flight range and camera make it perfect for getting close up to hard to reach areas and situations. The modular design then allows you to customise it to the application of use required. There were a lot of rumours about what the add-ons for the Mavic 2 Enterprise would be.
Now it has all become clear and most of the speculation was true. Attachments available include a high-intensity search and rescue spotlight, flashing beacon and loudspeaker usable to up to 40 metres.
The modified DJI Pilot flight software is perfect for taking over when needed and the Mavic 2’s multidirectional onboard sensors will give you peace of mind when you need to focus your attention elsewhere. It features up to 24gb onboard storage and flight data is locked down safe with its account security feature.
Now clearly this is not a mainstream product and will only be used for very specific jobs within certain industries. But it is very interesting to see DJI taking a consumer model and modifying it in this way. It’s nice to see drones being used for such positive applications and secures their future in a lot of commercial sectors for years to come.
