Lacie and DJI have teamed up to make shooting and exporting photos and footage from drones a simpler experience with this dedicated drone drive. The options of shooting long days with a drone involve either having lots of separate cards or having a laptop with you to dump your cards on to. The Lacie DJI Copilot is the perfect way to off load and review your drone or camera footage without having to carry around your laptop or tons of cards.

The drive looks very familiar to the Lacie Rugged Drive which has been the go-to hard drive for content creators on the move. Its looks aren’t where it ends, it does feature a splash, dust and drop resistant shell but its has some nice little additional connectivity features.

The Lacie DJI Copilot drive lets you plug SD cards directly in to it or plug in cameras directly using usb. It also has support to plug in a card reader directly so technically any card can be transferred on to the drive. It then allows you to just plug in your phone or tablet and manage your files. Its plug and play interface means there is no need for wifi, so you can use it anywhere.

For those nervous about not having a backup you are in luck because the Lacie Copilot allows you to plug in another drive and copy your files on to it. Another additional nice feature is that the drive can charge your phone or tablet whilst you are managing your files.

Lacie’s DJI Copilot is a great little accessory to have to backup your files and keep workflow lean. If you carry your laptop, own tons of cards and a Lacie Rugged drive then this may not be for you. But it is a great streamlined way to organise and backup all your footage with very little effort on the move.
